THE OLDER BOYS REPORT I

Some of the information given here may seem choppy or inconclusive. This is a “running blog” and a continuation of a much greater story. You are encouraged to go to the main web-site to catch-up or read previous blogs. These blogs tell the story of Christian I(100% DAV, homeschooling pastor-dad with M.S.)and Christian II (son 3 years old-T1 diabetic)-BOTH TRYING TO RAISE MONEY FOR SERVICE DOGS!

Thank you for coming! If you have any comments or suggestions, please let Dad know :-)

Christian I – Praise God for this cool weather. I love it, and I hope that this weather is a blessing to you as well! Today I’m going to have my two oldest boys give a little feedback on the question, “How do you feel about living in the parsonage?” As usual, Ethan will be typing as he and Joshua do... whatever their going to do.  I feel wonderful today and am going for a ride around the block with little Christian on my lap. So, take it away, boys!

Joshua - One thing that I really like about living at the parsonage is that we don’t have to wake up several hours before we leave for church on Sunday. In our last house it was very far away from the church that we now live by, and when Dad went to a church meeting we all packed in the car and drove about forty five minutes to the church, several times a week, and when it was over we came home very late.

Another reason why I like living in the parsonage is that there are, as often as not, a lot of odd jobs to do for the church. One time one of the other pastors asked if I could take down several TV antennae on the other church houses. This pastor recycled metal on the side to feed his family. I got a chance to walk around on several roofs and to help the church out.  I absolutely love stuff like that. I don’t know what else to say, and I’m going to let Ethan go now.

Ethan – There are many reasons why I like living at the parsonage (which is right next door to the church). When we hire people to work on our house (like remodel it or something of the sort), we can go right next door to the church to stay there while the men are working on our house! I also like living here because whenever there is a meeting at the church or there are people using the building, we can easily see from our house whatever is going on over there! :)
In addition to these things and the things Joshua said, the church has a library and a nice facility so whenever there is too much noise or bustle going on in our house (with 7 kids), I can just go to the church and study there instead of where there is a lot of noise. We can do much more living here in the parsonage than living somewhere else. Of course there are drawbacks to us living here, such as not having a very big yard, but in my opinion there are more assets than drawbacks.
I almost forgot one thing. Sometimes being right next door to the church we receive some old things that the church wants to get rid of, like an old tandem bike or books. This is one of my favorite things about living at the parsonage! :)

Christian II – My dad would also like me to report on little Christian. His blood sugar numbers are high and low again, but this time he has high keytones, his skin was hot to the touch and flush even though there was no fever. He is still the darling boy that he is today, even though he is going through a lot of trouble. Again, we REALLY need that dog! Christian asks often about Simon (the dog’s future name).

God bless you friend... :)
